Trunk tales
Party favors from the trunk
How to turn one box into twelve goodie bags without a trip to the dollar store.

In short
- A 24-ring box fills twelve bags with two rings each.
- A six-set gives six guests a necklace and a bracelet.
- The 36-bracelet tin covers a whole class.
Count the guests
Six guests: one classic jewelry six-set, a necklace and a bracelet each. Eight to twelve: a 24-ring box, two rings per bag, or a 24-ring box plus a tin of bracelets so each bag gets a ring and three bracelets. A class of twenty-plus: the tin of thirty-six bracelets, handed out at the door.
Match the theme
Unicorn party: the unicorn charm bracelets and the unicorn six-set. Princess tea party: pearl-bead bracelets and the heart ring box. Halloween: the Halloween ring box and the pumpkin-and-spider six-set. Pool party: a pair of sunglasses per guest and the swim set for the birthday girl.
Bag it
Small cellophane bags, one ring and one bracelet each, tied with a ribbon in the party color. Write names on the tags; it stops the swap arguments. Keep the empty ring box for the birthday girl, since it is the best part.
Grown-up notes
All of it is ages 3 and up with small parts. If younger siblings are coming, keep the favors for the car ride home.
